Accounting Specialist

Performs intermediate technical work preparing accounts payable and payroll, preparing journal entries, entering data into computer, preparing, processing and maintaining financial files and records, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Chief Financial Officer. Thorough knowledge of generally accepted non-profit accounting procedures; thorough knowledge of accounts payable and routine accounting policies, practices and procedures; general knowledge of bookkeeping terminology, methods, procedures and equipment; thorough knowledge in operating standard office equipment and associated software; thorough knowledge in preparing reports and other types of correspondence; ability to make arithmetic computations; ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages; ability to understand and apply accounting practices; maintenance of financial records; ability to meet deadlines; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, associates and the general public.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with coursework in accounting, business administration, or related field and moderate experience involving the maintenance of payroll and financial records, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Client Services Director

Performs difficult professional work planning, directing, and supervising the development and administration of programs, such as family support services, youth advocacy, domestic and sexual assault counseling and prevention and education programs, providing training to staff, preparing and administering program budgets, researching and preparing grant proposals, maintaining files and records, preparing reports and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Executive Director. Divisional supervision is exercised over all personnel within the division. Comprehensive knowledge of Agency policies and procedures; thorough knowledge of applicable industry best practices; comprehensive knowledge of applicable manuals (e.g. Healthy Families Policy Manual, Project Hope Policy Manual, and program grant manuals, etc.); comprehensive knowledge of services, benefits and programs available for at-risk youth and families; comprehensive knowledge in preparing reports and other types of correspondence; thorough knowledge in the use of standard office equipment and associated software (e.g. VA Data and PIMS software); general knowledge of the demographics of the service area; ability to interpret and apply regulations; ability to solve problems within the scope of responsibility; ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form; ability to make arithmetic computations; ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages; ability to establish effective working relationships with associates, agencies, clients and the general public.

Required Qualifications: Masters of Social Work or related field and moderate experience in domestic violence and sexual abuse program development and administration, youth advocacy, grant writing, including moderate supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
